The Horsehair Brush is designed as the second step in BrewTech’s puck cleaning process, removing remaining coffee grounds after puck release with precision and care. It completes the cleaning cycle by gently clearing residue from the basket and portafilter without causing wear or deformation.

Available in 51 mm, 53 mm and 58 mm, the brush is sized to match standard espresso baskets, ensuring consistent contact and uniform cleaning across different portafilter systems.

The bristles are made from natural horsehair, selected for its inherently soft and resilient structure. Horsehair provides effective particle removal while remaining gentle on metal surfaces, making it suitable for repeated daily use without damaging baskets or portafilters.

The brush geometry is carefully shaped to guide coffee grounds away from the basket and into the collection container. Bristle density, length, and spacing are balanced to prevent grounds from becoming trapped within the brush, allowing residue to detach cleanly during operation and avoiding buildup over time.

The brush body is manufactured from a stable, high-strength polymer, providing structural rigidity while keeping overall weight low. The black material is chosen for functional durability and resistance to staining from coffee oils and fines.

Produced using additive manufacturing, the brush assembly benefits from precise control over form and alignment. This approach supports consistent cleaning behavior and enables continuous refinement of the design based on real-world use.

When combined with the Precision Rotor, the Horsehair Brush creates a defined and repeatable cleaning workflow, removing residual grounds efficiently while preserving the integrity of the portafilter and basket, and keeping the espresso station clean and organized.
